Just made this as a light evening meal for 2 grown up sons. I doubled up the ingredients, so they had a good bowl full and both said it was delicious. I've made a lot of recipes from this site and haven't had a failure, yet. Good healthy food which is reducing our meat intake. Quick and cheap, too!

Asiya, I would really love to try your recipes as they look fantastic, but I'm struggling to find most of the ingredients here in the UK and that really sucks. Suppose I could always look on Amazon for what I need, Thanks for this amazing blog site, have a good day.

Looks a great recipe, but I'm a bit confused, Chana dal and urad dal are lentil dishes in themselves aren't they? So I'm wondering why you would only add half a teaspoon of them to the mix.

    • Asiya

Its a tempering method here in south india and its totally optional to add or not to add. If you would like to skip adding you can as there is not a necessity to add the lentils into the dish...Its just a tempering procedure followed here in south india...
